Questions and answers
What time can we check in or check out ?
Check-in is between 3 PM and 8 PM and check-out is between 8 AM and 11 AM. Of course we try to be flexible with these times. We would appreciate it if you let us know the time of check-in or check-out a day in advance.
Is breakfast included and at what times?
If you stay in the maison de maître, breakfast is included. If you stay in the gîtes, you can use the breakfast buffet (€12.50 pp). Please indicate in advance if you want to use this. In principle, breakfast is between 08:00 and 10:00, but if you want to leave early, we can take that into account.
How do we reach you?
Our Chambre d'hôtes is easy to reach by car. See also the 'Contact & Accessibility' tile. Our site has sufficient parking space on site. There are also parking spaces behind (not on the site, but a little closer) for guests staying in gîtes.
KLM flies daily from Amsterdam to Montpellier and Toulouse. At the airport you can rent a car (two hours drive). During the summer months, Ryanair flies every Wednesday and Sunday from Weeze / Dusseldorf to Béziers. From Béziers it is another hour to Riols.
You can also travel by train: Various trains can be booked via the NS International website. From Amsterdam there is a train that takes just under 9 hours to Beziers, for just over €100. Book up to three months in advance (and can be canceled for free); you can also set an alert so that you can buy a cheap ticket in time. You can rent a car near Beziers station. From Beziers it is another 45 minutes to Riols. From Montpellier 1h45.
Where can we sit outside?
Our site is 3,500 m2 in size; there are several seating areas where you can relax. There are sunbeds around the pool. Both gîtes also have private balconies. At the back of the maison we have a small sitting area and we would like to keep it to ourselves to take a breather every now and then.
Is the pool heated?
No, it is an unheated pool. It can therefore be a bit chilly in April and May. But in the summer, the swimming pool offers wonderful cooling! The pool is separate from the house with sun loungers around it for private sunbathing.
Are children welcome?
From April to June (with the exception of the May holidays; April 29 to May 7, 2023) and in September, we welcome guests from 16 years old in the rooms and gîtes of La Cerisaie. Not because we don't like children, but because we like to offer other guests a quiet place. In July and August, families with children from 12 years old and who can swim are very welcome in the two gîtes. If you rent the whole house, children are more than welcome. We assume that you keep an eye on them yourself, partly because of the swimming pool.
Are pets allowed?
As Roxy lives in the maison de maitre, pets are not allowed there. Yes, in the gîtes, but after consultation. We would appreciate dogs being leashed outside on the property. If Roxy wants to meet dogs, she can take the initiative herself :).
Can we rent the entire complex?
Yes, the entire complex can be rented (in the early and late season for a minimum of three nights, in the summer for a minimum of one week), provided no other guests have booked yet. We can arrange everything in consultation. Keep in mind that we also live in the chambre d'hôtes. Parties, parties or weddings are also possible. In total (with an extra bed in the rooms here and there) a maximum of twenty people can stay.
Do you also provide meals?
We provide an extensive breakfast every day: coffee / tea with fresh croissants and baguette from the local bakery, an egg, various spreads, yogurt, granola and fruit. In general, we cook a delicious three-course menu three times a week with as many local products as possible. On Tuesdays the menu is somewhat simple (Italian / pasta) and on Thursdays and Saturdays it is a bit more extensive. It is then eating 'what the pot' eats.
Can we use our own food and drink?
This is of course always possible in your own room or in the gîtes (with your own kitchen and fridge, sitting area and balcony). In addition, it is possible to obtain all kinds of drinks and snacks. But if you have bought a special bottle of wine yourself, or you like to drink whiskey for example (we do not sell spirits), then it is fine to enjoy it. There is also a kettle in all rooms to make your own coffee and tea. However, if you want an espresso or cappuccino, you can also order it from us. In the gîtes you can do whatever you feel like.
Are there restaurants and shops in the village?
In Riols there is a bakery and this year there would be a butcher again. But otherwise there are no shops or restaurants. In Saint-Pons (four kilometers away) there are several supermarkets and restaurants. There is also an ATM there. In Olargues (15 minutes by car) there are two good restaurants, one of which is listed in the Michelin guide.
